Idea Organization
During the phase of researching you get lots and lots of ideas and strong points about the topic you are writing or the thesis statement you have proposed. A good approach is to jot down these ideas, thoughts and important points anywhere. If you fail to do so then it is likely that you will forget these ideas, facts and findings. If they are relevant facts and figures or interesting quotes that you might want to use as a support for your essay's topic or thesis statement then record the sources too. After you have got enough ideas and topic or topic sentence specific support its time to arrange them in an organized manner so that they can be used accordingly.
Idea organization basically refers to the presentation that is how you will present these ideas. Presentation here refers to the sequence of usage and for what purpose those ideas and facts are used. Obviously you would not use all the ideas at once, but rather use them in accordance with your essay's pace and with respect to the area under discussion. In short, idea organization defines a written plan of an essay that is an approach that defines how to execute the ideas and support systematically. Without organization there won't be smooth transition between paragraphs and the discussion would be jumping from one aspect to another, which is not good.
As we know that an essay has three parts namely an introduction, the body and a conclusion. Generic, strong and an interesting idea, fact or figure must be used in this portion as this portion gives a birds eye view of an entire essay. Then comes the body portion, which can be logically divided into parts with each part focusing on a single aspect with all the support. And finally comes the conclusion that embeds an idea or a statement that briefly but completely summarizes the above discussion or at least the central theme of an essay.
